#10: When do you want to be misunderstood?

Why for reasons of subterfuge, of course. Why else?

Many people are — often in tandem — incredibly perceptive and gullible at the same time.

When you are being conniving, when devising a ruse, when duplicity is called for, when chicanery is afoot! That’s when orchestrating a scenario in which you are intentionally misunderstood might work to your advantage. If done with mastery, you can put people in a situational zugzwang, and get them to work against, and defeat, themselves.

As far as wanting to be misunderstood without the deceit, I can’t really think of anything. Seems kind of pointless, and frustrating, and a bit of a nightmare.
