Without Any Help From Anyone

What would you do if I spoke out of turn? Would you stop listening and leave? What would you do if I wrote out of line? Would you turn the page and grieve? What would you do if the skies were aflame and the earth was made of fire? What would you do if the wrecking ball’s blow turns your house into mire? And what would you do if one day you woke up and you noticed that you’re old? And what would you do with your final breath when you realize your soul’s been sold? What would you do when with every pull you draw less and less air? What would you do if the veil was removed and you saw your lies laid bare? What would you do when one day there was nowhere left to crawl? What would you do at that final hour if there was no one there to call? And what would you do if next time you rang I wasn’t there no more? And what would you do if we didn’t speak and never settled our score?
