#59: What is so seductive about that first glance?
I know what glance you’re talking about. It’s special indeed — redolent — and definitely not very common at all. And you’re right, it’s seductive as hell.
It is a look charged, nay — replete — with possibilities.
But let’s be clear about something. It’s not just any first glance that is seductive. Oh no. There’s a whole caravan of spurned first glances, a parade of pleasedontcomeover glances.
Conspicuously stealing looks from the cute bartender until she finally catches your eye and the unspoken you’re creeping me out message is transmitted — yea, nothing seductive about that. I may have to issue a collective apology to cute bartenders the world over.
But, every now and then, there is that glance. That first glance. That look which says I’ve noticed you. It’s quite a thrill. And it’s seductive precisely because it’s nebulous. There’s nothing to suggest that anything will necessarily come of this mutual noticing of each other. Something could come from it, if the ensuing conversation goes well, but it’s far from certain. It is a look of possibilities. And that’s where seduction thrives.
